Welcome to Harbin, the largest and most special city in the most northern parts of China! After landing in Harbin you will meet your driver for a transfer to your hotel. The rest of the day you can discover the area and acclimatise. If you arrive early, we will make sure you can make perfectly good use of this first day, and see a few nice sights in town, such as the big St. Sophia Church. Later in the tour (day 3), we can focus on other sights that you haven’t seen yet. No matter what, there’s much to discover in this huge city!
Get ready for an exciting day as we will drive from Harbin to the magical Snow Town (6hrs).
After arrival in Snow Town, you will step into a real-life snow fairyland on Xueyun Street. Enjoy the breathtaking snowscapes and treat yourself to the special local frozen treats like pears, persimmons, and rock candy. Build your very own snowman 🙂 and don’t miss the chance to experience the local dog sled ride (if you dare!).
Later this day you will witness the vibrant floating parade, Chinese Yangko dancing, and join the mesmerizing bonfire party in the evening (subject to weather conditions!).
Day 3! We will dive back to Harbin today. In the afternoon we will explore the heart of Harbin with a city tour. We’ll walk along the lively Central Avenue, and discover Stalin Park together. Here we can admire the grandeur of Saint Sophia Cathedral, the largest Orthodox Church in the Far East.
In winter, parts of the Songhua River near Harbin freeze, making it a popular spot for ice skating, hockey and other winter activities on the ice. The famous Binzhou Bridge spans across the Songhua River. As the sun sets, brace yourself for a memorable experience as we visit the renowned Ice and Snow World. This is the most famous thing about Harbin 🙂 — Prepare to be amazed by the huge ice and snow sculptures that transform this park into a breathtaking winter paradise.
Note: Please be aware that Snow Town experiences significant snowfall each year, and this can result in road closures and limited access to the area.
In the morning, we will go to Sun Island Park, also known as the International Snow Sculpture Art Expo. Enjoy the reflecting sunlight (don’t forget your sunglasses) as you see the brilliance of the snow sculptures, adding a touch of magic to this winter themed tour. Next, we will visit the renowned Siberian Tiger Park, a sprawling natural sanctuary for majestic Siberian tigers. Behold these magnificent creatures up close and learn about conservation efforts to protect them.
After that (and lastly) we drive to Laodaowai Street. This street used to be a Russian commercial and residential area from the early 1900s when Russia had economic interests in Harbin.
This was our last day together. We will miss you!
It’s time to say farewell to this winter paradise. We’ll provide you with a seamless transfer service to the airport or train station. We do hope to see you next time! Please spread the word about Yellowbird tour for us!
