Day by day schedule:
Day 1: Tiananmen Square, Forbidden City, Rickshaw Hutong Ride, Temple of Heaven
In the morning, our guide will meet you at your hotel lobby. We’ll start by visiting Tiananmen Square, one of the world’s largest public squares. Tiananmen Square is full of historical significance and is surrounded by impressive communist architecture.
Next, we’ll proceed to the Forbidden City, an imperial palace complex that served as the home of Chinese emperors for centuries. You will be impressed by its architecture, stunning courtyards, and unique artifacts.
After lunch we will explore the narrow alleyways, known as hutongs, as we take a rickshaw ride through the historic residential area. Visit a local family’s courtyard home, gaining insights into their daily life and traditions. We then will continue to visit the Temple of Heaven, an iconic religious site where emperors once held ceremonies to pray for good harvests and spiritual blessings.
When today’s tour finishes, you can treat yourself with a flavourful Beijing duck dinner at a local restaurant.
Day 2: Mutianyu Great Wall(B)
Today you will wake up in Beijing. After a nice breakfast, we’ll start our exciting trip to the Mutianyu Great Wall, one of the best-preserved sections of the Great Wall of China. The drive is approximately 70 kilometers, which takes about 1.5 to 2 hours. Once arrived, you will have plenty of time to hike and explore this amazing architectural wonder.
In the afternoon, we’ll make our way back to Beijing where we will visi the iconic Bird’s Nest Stadium, the main venue of the 2008 Beijing Olympics from afar. At night, you can stroll through the enchanting Houhai Lake area by yourself, known for its picturesque scenery and vibrant nightlife.
