Experience a full day as a panda volunteer at the renowned Dujiangyan Panda Base near Chengdu. Join keepers in preparing food, cleaning enclosures, and learning about panda care and conservation.
This hands-on program includes special opportunities to observe and support giant pandas up close, guided by English-speaking staff. Round-trip transfers from Chengdu, all permits and necessary documents, lunch, and your contribution fee are covered for a stress-free and unforgettable day with China’s most beloved animals.

Day 1: Panda Volunteer
- We will meet at Dujiangyan Panda Base at 8:30 am. The staff will inform of the guidelines for safety to work as volunteers. After changing into the uniform, you will start by cleaning the panda’s enclosure and adding fresh bamboo.
- Around 10 am, we visit the park and meet the cute pandas! You will closely examine the pandas being fed by the keeper.
- Afterwards we will have lunch together in the park together.
- In the afternoon, we will watch the documentary to learn (even) more about pandas!
- And last but not least, you will learn to make corncakes for pandas :).
After the program, you will be given a Panda Volunteer Certificate and a Panda-printed t-shirt as a souvenir.

Dawei is a Tibetan Buddhist, and comes from the most north edge of the Tibetan plateau in Qinghai province, Western China. He has travelled as a tour leader to many South Asian countries such as India, Bhutan and also nearly the entire country of China. He focuse especially on guiding in Qinghai, Gansu, Sichuan, Ningxia provinces and Tibetan regions. Andrew was born and grew up in a small village of Zhangjiajie, Hunan. From 2009-2012 he works for royal Caribbean International cruise as an onboard guest services officer. After that, he dedicates his life/time to guiding and operating tours in Zhangjiajie and around.
