Day 1: Arrival in Paro -Tranquil Journey to Thimphu 55km/1h

Welcome to the serene kingdom of Bhutan as you arrive in Paro. We will pick you up from the airport and we start a peaceful 1-hour drive, spanning 55 kilometers, to the city of Thimphu.

When you arrive in Thimphu, we will visit Kuensel Phodrang, home to the tallest Buddha statue in Bhutan. Let the gentle presence of the Buddha inspire a sense of calm and inner peace within you. This special place, with its panoramic views and spiritual importance, is the perfect introduction to the unique mix of tradition and tranquility that Bhutan offers.

Day 2: Blissful Exploration of Thimphu

Today, you will dress up in the traditional clothing of Bhutanese people: Gho for men and Kira for women. We will visit the Folk Heritage Museum, learn everything about Bhutanese history and artifacts. We will also go to the Zorig Chusum (also known as the 13 Art and Craft School), and witness traditional arts being practiced by skilled local artists.

Ww will continue our cultural exploration at the Paper Factory to understand Bhutan’s papermaking process. Up next is Zilukha Nunnery, a Tibetan Buddhist monastery. Nearby is the Takin Center that is home to Bhutan’s national animal. As the day slowly ends, lose yourself in the vibrant atmosphere of the Craft Market.

Day 3: Thimphu to Phubjikha - Embrace Nature's Tranquility 160km/4-5hrs

After nice local breakfast we will drive to Phubjikha through the beautiful Dochula pass, where you can have view of the himalaya mountain ranges. On the way, we will have a detour and a 45-minute walk to Chimi Lakhang, a temple nestled amidst breathtaking landscapes. Afterwards you can relax as w continue our drive, feeling the gentle cool breeze as we move through the stunning Phubjikha Valley, renowned for its winter population of black-necked cranes.

Day 4: Phubjikha to Punakha - Embrace Local Hospitality 77km/2hrs

Welcome to day number 4 in this gorgeous country 🙂 – In the morning we begin by visiting the Gangtey Gompa, a great monastery that stands as a testament to Bhutan’s spiritual heritage. We will then continue our journey to the Black Neck Crane Center, where you can observe these graceful birds in their natural habitat.

You will have time to take a nice walk through the village to interact with the welcoming locals and learn about their way of life. For an authentic experience, a farmhouse lunch can be arranged, providing an opportunity to eat traditional Bhutanese dishes while connecting with the warm-hearted locals.

In the end we will drive to Punakha. As the day is coming to and end, we can take a stroll across the longest suspension bridge in Bhutan. Afterwards we will return you to your hotel and have a delightful dinner together.

Day 5: Punakha to Paro - Discover Hidden Gems 137km/3hrs

On day 5 we start by visiting the picturesque village of Talo. Here we will go to the Talo Nunnery, where you can connect with the nuns and delve into the spiritual depths of Bhutan’s culture. We will continue the journey to Paro, and on the way, satisfy your appetite with a delicious lunch at the Thimphu Babesa Village restaurant.

Check-in to your Paro hotel and take a moment to refresh and unwind. Later, your knowledgeable guide will accompany you to Paro town, where you can enjoy the architecture of Paro Dzong and explore the rich history preserved at Ta Dzong, now a museum.

Day 6: Hike to the Serene Taktsang (Tiger's Nest)

The journey begins by driving to Paro’s upper valley, where you’ll be treated to a breathtaking view of Mt. Chomolhari, affectionately called the “Goddess” by locals. As you arrive at the trailhead, embark on a memorable pilgrimage to Taktsang Monastery, famously known as Tiger’s Nest. After the hike(2-2.5hrs for one way), we will drive back to Paro.

Taktsang Monastery is perched miraculously on a cliff, nearly 2,700 feet above Paro’s valley floor. Legend has it that Guru Rinpoche, the renowned Buddhist master, flew to this sacred site on the back of a flying tiger in the 7th century.

Note: For those who prefer a shorter hike, an alternative option is a 20-minute trek to Singay Dra, known as the “Mini Tiger’s Nest.”

Day 7: Farewell to Bhutan - Paro Airport Drop

As your memorable journey comes to an end, bid farewell to the captivating kingdom of Bhutan. A comfortable transfer to Paro Airport is arranged for you, tour finishes.
