Day 1: Arrival in Chongqing
Welcome to Chongqing, the famous “Mountain City”! Upon your arrival at the airport or train station, you will be transferred to your hotel.
The rest of the day is yours to relax and start soaking in the unique atmosphere of this vast, layered city built on hills. Perhaps take an evening stroll to sample your first taste of Chongqing’s famously spicy hotpot.
Day 2: Dazu Rock Carvings + Ciqikou Ancient Town
You will visit Baodingshan Rock Carvings and Beishan Rock Carvings. As world cultural heritage sites, they feature exquisite ancient stone carvings and profound Buddhist culture.
Listen to the guide to learn about local history and stories, then enjoy an authentic local lunch in Dazu. Afterwards, head back to downtown and tour Ciqikou Ancient Town, wandering along stone lanes and visiting old shops and traditional dwellings.
Day 3: City Culture & Iconic Landmarks
You’ll visit the Three Gorges Museum to learn about the history of the Three Gorges and Bashu culture through its abundant collection of cultural relics, followed by a stop at Luohan Temple, a time-honored and peaceful Buddhist temple in the city center.
You’ll enjoy a typical Chongqing-style lunch, then head to Liziba Metro Station to watch the unique sight of a metro train running through a residential building and take photos.
Continue to Hongyadong, a distinctive stilt-house complex showcasing traditional Bayu architectural style, and finally ascend to the Raffles City Chongqing 131m Observation Deck to overlook the urban landscape and the confluence of two rivers from the high-altitude platform.
Day 4: City Trails, River Experience & Night Cruise
You’ll start at Eling Park, a classic urban park with lush greenery and nice city views perfect for a relaxed walk.
Then, take the Mountain City Footpath, walking along old paths to experience the authentic style of old Chongqing, followed by a visit to Shibati, a landmark that connects the upper and lower parts of the city and is full of local folk customs.
Enjoy a local lunch, then ride the Yangtze River Cableway, a famous cross-river cableway offering panoramic views of the river and the city skyline.
Next, explore Danzishi Old Street, a riverside old street with excellent views towards Hongyadong and Raffles City.
Finally, take a Two-River Night Cruise to admire the spectacular night scenery along the Yangtze River and Jialing River.
Day 5: Leisure Tour & Departure
You will begin at Longmenhao Old Street, a century-old street with an elegant atmosphere and fantastic river views.
Then, head to Guanyinqiao Snack Street to taste a variety of authentic Chongqing snacks, followed by a visit to Jiefangbei Commercial Street, where you can see the city’s landmark monument and stroll through the bustling business district.
You will then be transferred to the airport or railway station according to your flight or train schedule, marking the end of the tour.
